Friday 8th October Carn Gwaval, St Mary’s
Ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage with the European funded Business Clusters program requires getting out and about. So on Friday October 8th Software Cornwall and the training program Gateway into Tech will be having an open evening on St Marys, Isles of Scilly.
The ESF funded Business Clusters is to support the development of new training strategies to improve the relevance of learning for work skills in seven enterprise areas within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Software Cornwall’s part is obviously for the software sector. With a membership of 100 companies there are opportunities for talented individuals from other industries to change career. The creative world of software requires the input from the real world to ensure that it is relevant. The industry also requires knowledgeable people away from the hard face of the software development to support the teams and engage with clients. But by providing a certain amount of training the Gateway into Tech will enable those who can help that missing piece to their skills puzzle.
Learn Scilly
The loan of the Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre for the evening by Learn Scilly will provide a comfortable setting for those on the islands interested in trying something new. Remote working and remote learning has made huge strides in the last year or so. The Isles of Scilly also have some of the best connectivity in the UK. So why not make the most of it?
If you are a resident on the islands make a note in your calendar for 6pm Friday 8th October. We shall be there and will take you through the training plan. Even if a career change is maybe not your intention the skills development undertaken are becoming relevant across industries far removed from the software development.
