Launch into SpaceTech & AeroSpace : Business Support, Workspace & Connectivity: Tech Destination Cornwall #technation - Tech Cornwall

An £8.4 million investment by Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) in Goonhilly Earth Station in Cornwall will create the world’s first commercial deep-space communications station, with the ability to track and control forthcoming robotic and human missions to the Moon and Mars.

Goonhilly is partnering with Cornwall Airport Newquay to open the UK’s first spaceport making Cornwall a base for launching and communicating with space missions. The plans for the Spaceport offer a complete end to end UK launch capability and aspires to add out of this world holidays to its list of destinations the future.

This year, Bloodhound’s rocket and car testing was hosted at the local Aerohub enterprise zone at Cornwall Newquay Airport, the first run for this Supersonic Car that aims to reach a new World Land Speed record of 1000 mph.
