This Workshop will be held in person on the 12th October followed by an online session on the 25th October 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Training Goal
The goal of this program is to empower founders who were not selected for the September 14th Startup Cornwall Slush’d event. We aim to prepare them for future pitching opportunities through a combination of in-person workshops, online content, and training. Our focus is on enhancing their ability to answer the crucial question, “What do you do?” (WDYD?), which is a pivotal moment in any pitch.
Training Focus:
The answer to “What do you do?” sets the direction for conversations and future relationships. Unfortunately, many pitches fall short of their potential. Our mission is to change that by providing founders with the necessary skills and tools to make their pitches stand out.
WDYD Pitch Coaching:
A comprehensive 3-part pitch training program designed specifically for founders.
Part 01: 1/2 Day In-Person Training
Content:
– The 4 S’s of Successful Pitching:
1. Pitch Strategy
2. Storytelling
3. Speaker Performance
4. Slide Design
Activity:
– PitchClub 01 – WDYD
All attendees will deliver a 30-second networking pitch, which is similar to the “What Do You Do?” scenario encountered at events and the opening of startup pitches.
Each pitch will receive 4 types of feedback:
1. Anonymous Survey
2. Self-Reflection
3. Peer Feedback
4. On-the-Spot Coaching
Part 02: Online Content
Founders will gain access to a curated selection of online content, which they can review at their own pace before the next online session. The content includes:
– Pitching A to Z
– Public Speaking A to Z
– How to Get a Reply in 3 Days
– Ace Your Next 5-Minute Pitch
Part 03: Online Workshop (60-90 Minutes)
PitchClub 02 – WDYD
Founders will once again share their 30-second networking pitch, simulating real-life scenarios at events and startup pitch introductions.
Following each pitch, founders will receive 4 types of feedback:
1. Anonymous Survey
2. Self-Reflection
3. Peer Feedback
4. On-the-Spot Coaching
This comprehensive blend of in-person and online training provides founders with the opportunity to witness the evolution and improvement of their pitches over time. It equips them with the skills and confidence they need to excel in future pitching opportunities.
Remember: Mastering the “What do you do?” question can be the key to unlocking success in your entrepreneurial journey. Join us on this transformative training journey to elevate your pitching skills and make a lasting impression.
