SCSL HealthSCSLhealth shortlisted in Cornwall Business Awards 2016

SCSLhealth, a forward thinking health technology company based in Cornwall, has been shortlisted in the 2016 Cornwall Business Awards within the category “Business Innovation of the Year”. Now in its 11th year, the Cornwall Business Awards are a celebration of innovation, achievement, and entrepreneurial spirit within the Cornish business community. The overall winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the St Mellion International Resort in Cornwall on 12th May 2016.

SCSLhealth provides anticoagulation software which helps clinicians to manage patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) – a very common long term heart condition which is one of the biggest causes of stroke. This software is in use in over 2,700 NHS locations across the UK.

The company has been shortlisted for its new and unique data analysis tool, INRstar Analytics, which can pull data from across its 2,700 NHS locations to be viewed centrally as anonymised, real time information. This can help Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) at population level to understand trends in anticoagulation efficacy across and between different healthcare locations to understand where there is best practice, or conversely, need for improvement. This can then be used in line with the CCGs wider stroke prevention programme.
This is the first time a business intelligence analytics tool has been used to support multi-provider anticoagulation services. It is timely, proactive and pre-empts problems developing amongst disparate providers which can be identified easily through the analytics tool and reporting format to transform the patient safety agenda.

Clare Gardner says: “We are thrilled that our commitment to innovation and our efforts to design, develop and deliver INRstar analytics to the healthcare market have been recognised by our local business community. We are very much looking forward to the awards dinner in May to find out who the winners are.”
